TCOY 1 Minute Focus

The well-known concept of doing something consistently for 30 days to change/improve your life is worthwhile. However, there's a lot of life to live within those 30 days and it does tend to get in the way of our grand plans. Sometimes we just don't have 30 days to put consistently towards making a change in our life. Or, possibly, it's just not in our nature for that method to work.

When broken down even smaller, it still may not be possible to make positive changes happen. At the beginning of each week, those 7 days seem so promising but tend to fall short. Too often, 24 hours have passed without time for ourselves being put on the schedule. And, to regularly have 60 minutes for us and us alone would be awesome, but it doesn't tend to happen all the time.

That's why the 1 minute focus is a must for everyone, every day. It's fast. It's time for you (who doesn't love that?) Plus, the power you gain from it is amazing!

For instance:

  • Have a short attention span...learn to lengthen it to 60 seconds. At the moment of your 1 minute focus, think only about the most recent positive thought, event or person encountered. Hold it, hold it...no, no thinking about the errand after work...just hold that one thought.
  • Feel like your mind is constantly running...zero in on a single thought, allowing no other to take hold and give yourself a mini-break, or a mind reboot if you will.
  • If you can't find time to do something for yourself, use that time to think about yourself...such as good thoughts about who you are, about something recently accomplished, restarting your day if it didn't start off well, etc.
  • Do what you enjoy...read a bible verse or favorite quote, think of your family or pull weeds from the flowers in your garden, if that's what you enjoy.
  • Make it a time to focus on your body...apply lotion, stretch, drink a cup of water, or even apply mascara and lip gloss if you want your outsides to look as good as your insides feel!
  • If you're at a loss for what to do for your 1 minute focus, spend the time thinking about what would be worth doing for your next 1 minute focus. ;-)
Regardless of whether you change it up or do the same thing each day, find the time for a 1 minute focus each and every day. Taking care of you is important and every minute of your life is an opportunity for doing it!

Thanks to my friend at Just Lisa, No Filler for helping me craft this fabulous contribution to my life.

Until next time...Take Care Of You!

Wonderful! Sitting down for even just one minute before meeting the demands of your busy life can allow us to to pay attention to what is msot meaningful. We can look inward and focus on desires that come from the heart. In fact, I think I'll take a minute right now!

You're correct, Annette. Just taking those 60 little moments at the beginning of our day can prepare us to meet our day less rushed and with more purpose than just where auto-pilot takes us.

Way to go on taking that TCOY minute for yourself right when it occurred to you! :-)
