Quote to Reflect Upon (Oct24)

There is no way to help a learner to be disciplined, active, and thoroughly engaged unless he perceives a problem to be a problem or whatever is to-be-learned as worth learning, and unless he plays an active role in determining the process of solution.
~ Neil Postman

True 'joy' is the difference between just amusing ourselves to death and creating 'meaningful' pleasure.
~ Sidney Poitier

Quote to Reflect Upon (Aug24)

You cannot spend your life wanting to be someone else, snipping off pieces of yourself you don't like, and suddenly expect, upon reaching a goal, to be confident, self-accepting, rooted like an oak tree in your being.
~ Geneen Roth

Quote to Reflect Upon (Jul24)

Take yourself in. [...] Until you realize [...] that the essence of you, like the sky, was always there. You just happened to get distracted by the local weather for a few decades.

Once you have learned to ask questions – relevant and appropriate and substantial questions – you have learned how to learn and no one can keep you from learning whatever you want or need to know.

Who you are is way more interesting than who you’re not.
~ Jeff Cook

A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention.

Quote to Reflect Upon (Mar24)

Ideas often don’t arrive with a bang. The big thing never screams that it’s a big thing. At first glance, the big thing actually looks quite small.
~ Ozan Varol

Quote to Reflect Upon (Feb24)

Who does the work?
Who bears the consequences?
Who reaps the rewards?
When the incentives are aligned, it's the same person.
~ James Clear

Goals are for people who care about winning once.

Quote to Reflect Upon (Nov23)

Suffering happens when we expect life to be something
more and different than what it is in the present moment.
When we let go of all expectation, there is peace.
~ Kim Eng

Quote to Reflect Upon (Oct23)

Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
~ Mark Twain

Quote to Reflect Upon (Sept23)

Remember that every great invention started in the imagination of someone who dared to imagine it—from democracy to aviation, from the Muppets to the World Wide Web. Every breakthrough, every discovery, every solution to every problem ever solved came from a place of possibility. So begin dreaming and get comfortable existing in pure possibility. Keep it close to your heart, even when you return to your routines, habits, and schedules.
~ Tamara Levitt

Quote to Reflect Upon (Aug23)

Set your intention to manifest the solution, instead of obsessing over the problem.

Visualize the cure, don't feed the calamity.

~ Anthon St. Maarten

Quote to Reflect Upon (Jul23)

Where am I spending energy trying to please someone who actually doesn't care?
~ James Clear

Quote to Reflect Upon (Jun23)

If you begin to understand what you are without trying to change it, then what you are undergoes a transformation.
~ J. Krishnamurti

Quote to Reflect Upon (May23)

This can be a great time to seek feedback on your work. [...] However, if your motivation is coming from a place of seeking validation from outside of yourself, this could be a sign that you need to shift your focus. Use this chance to work on finding confidence from within. Get to know who you are, so that you can realize that you are always enough.
~ The Pattern

Quote to Reflect Upon (Apr23)

You once measured yourself in grades
numbers on scales
in certificates

Now look at you.

You no longer need a unit of measurement to know your value.
